For Frieda…

Wow this is hard. This is going to be real. I am going to speak open and from my heart.
I remember the phone call.
Mom: She has cancer, Jen.
Me: What did you say?
Mom: She has Neuroblastoma.
She was talking about my 4 year old niece, Alexis. Better known as Lulu. After surgery, scans, tests and lots of prayer, here we are almost 3 years later, and by the grace of God, Lu has been cancer-free for most of it.
I wish I could say that is where the story ends, though. I wish that I could say that was my last encounter with the disease…but it’s not. It’s very likely that every person reading this has their own story to tell. One about a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a cousin, a friend. How it changed their life; how it broke their heart; how it tested every ounce of strength they had. It seems that cancer has put it’s fingerprint on just about everyone’s life. And it continues…
Today, I got the phone call.
It was my good friend and assistant Kristen. This time the conversation was a little different.
Kristen: Jen, it’s about Frieda (her mother in law).
We already knew about the cancer, but thought progress was being made to beat it. Turns out, it’s worse. There is more cancer, the treatment isn’t working, there is nothing else that can be done. She is being sent home to be comfortable and enjoy the time she has left. Another story to be told. One of a strong, young woman beaten by this disease.
In general, I am a very positive person. I have a strong faith in God, in prayer and in miracles. I am also human, and I still hurt and question God when prayers seem to go unanswered. God WHY? My heart is just breaking!
I am asking that for those of you that pray, please pray for the Wild family. For peace, comfort, strength, and to enjoy the time they have left with Frieda.
He just loves the water…

I know that there have been a lot of blogs lately about my boys, but since we have moved away from my parents, I have been requested to put up lots of pictures of them.
And well, this blog is not just for my business, but personal life too!
On Saturday, we traveled out of Camarillo and went to a mall in Ventura. Ok, not really far from Camarillo, but it was still fun. This mall had the “dancing” water, and Robbie could not resist going in it. What can I say, my boys LOVE the water!

My littlest man.

Last week, my baby Logan got his first real haircut. It was a sad time for me, because I loved his long hair; but when a woman called him a little girl, I decided it was time. I like it, but I miss his long hair
Maybe I’ll just keep it short for summer
What do you think?
Before?

After?

Sarah and Amber have been friends for a lifetime, and it is easy to see why. They compliment each other perfectly.
Amber can talk for hours, and Sarah is a great listener. Sarah is comfortable with silence, and Amber fills the silence.
Amber will be moving to Virginia at the end of this month to join her hubby, Todd, who has joined the Army.
Sarah and Amber wanted to do one last photo session to really define their friendship. So we headed to Newport Beach to have some fun.
Here are just a few images of the fun afternoon…
