Earth Hour 2008

March 28, 2008 | Filed Under | 3 Comments

It started with a question…How can we inspire people to take action on climate change?

The answer…Ask the people of Sydney to turn off their lights for one hour.

On March 31, 2007, 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businesses turned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour. If the greenhouse reduction achieved in Sydney during Earth Hour was sustained for an hour, it would be equivalent to taking 48,616 cars off the road for a year!

So now, I am asking you:  today, at 8pm local time, turn off your lights and appliances for one hour.It is a small sacrifice to make a measurable difference…please join me.

Visit Earth Hour for more information.

Who’s in??

WPPI Recap…

March 25, 2008 | Filed Under | 8 Comments

Seems like everyone I know has already posted about WPPI, but better late than never, right?

We got to Vegas around 4pm on Sunday afternoon, and pretty much relaxed until our parties that night. This was my first WPPI, so little did I know, that would be the last time we relaxed until we got home!

For me this trip was a 36 hour non-stop whirlwind of networking, learning, meeting new friends and NOT sleeping :) I can honestly say that I learned so many useful things, and made some new friends, as well as, running into old friends. It was definitely worth the trip and I can’t wait to go again next year!

BUT I missed my family so much, I am bringing them along next time :) Yeah, I am a wimp and I need my 3 boys!

Here are some pictures of the fun…

Me and my roomie, Kristen

Jeret and his super sweet wife, Kristy.

Lovely Molly of Luminaire Images.

This lady was the one I was waiting to meet for months!

The very talented Scarlett Lillian.

We actually got to have dinner and talk for a couple hours! It was awesome!

This isn’t the best photo, but Cheyenne was one of the nicest people I met there and I had to include her!

I gotta get some rest before next year!

P.S…I am so very sad because I have no pictures of me and my BFF Mel :(

Our Easter Day…

March 24, 2008 | Filed Under | 1 Comment

I had grand ideas of our Easter this year: Celebrating Jesus’ resurrection by going to church as a family, then having Easter dinner and egg hunts at my sister’s house that afternoon. Ok, maybe not “GRAND”, but I was really looking forward to it.

My body had other plans. When I returned from Vegas last Tuesday, I was hit with a severe case of the flu. I pretty much stayed in bed until today, and my wonderful husband took care of the house and our boys for me. It was so awesome to watch him take complete control. Rob setup the boys egg hunt, and I really enjoyed watching Logan squeal every time he found one. It made me smile.

So my Easter was GRAND after all :)

I don’t know what was going on with the kids hair…all I can say is I was sick! LOL!

On a personal note: It seems like lately, with every holiday, I am reminded that “GRAND” ideas are not what I should be focusing on. Yeah, I try not to, but I still get swept up in the “holiday” feel and not what the day is truly all about. This year, I am especially thankful for Easter and what it means for my soul.

Thank you Jesus for not only giving your life for me, but beating death!

Michael and Elizabeth…Wedding

March 19, 2008 | Filed Under | 8 Comments

Last Saturday, Michael and Elizabeth were married at Crossroads Christian Church in Corona, CA. Rain was in the forecast, but when we needed it, the sun shone bright and puffy white clouds were in the beautiful blue sky. It seems like just yesterday that we shot their engagement session! Time really does fly. Here are a few of my favorites of the day…
