On Sunday, I celebrated my 31st birthday. Yep, 31, and I proud of it! I guess I am happy with my age because I am so completely satisfied with my life. I have two beautiful boys, a husband that takes care of me and loves me, and a family that is awesome! I am beyond blessed in my life!After church, we went to Elephant Bar for lunch…YUMMY!

In memory of a fallen Officer

Last week, LAPD Officer Randy Simmons was killed as he tried to raid the house of a gunman who had gone berserk and slain several family members. He was the LAPD’s first SWAT officer to die in the line of duty since the unit was formed in 1967. He had been with the elite unit for 20 years and was the group’s second-highest ranking member. With my husband an LAPD officer, it hits home really hard. You realize that our lives are a blink of an eye, and that no one is guarenteed a tomorrow.
Today, was the funeral for this Hero, and as I watched the story of his life played out, I was moved as well as inspired. His legacy will continue to live on, in spite of his death, because of the life he led. Selflessness, Honor, Integrity, Faith.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I love Valentine’s Day! LOVE IT! It ranks right up there with Christmas in my book. Not because of gifts, but for what the day stands for. LOVE!! Think about it…a whole day dedicated to LOVE.
Some may say that it is a forced and cliche, but I say in this busy world we live in, sometimes we all need to be forced to just stop and say “I LOVE YOU. You mean everything to me, and I couldn’t live without you!” All of the “sweeties” in my life are remembered today.
So, in honor of St. Valentine’s Day, I hope you had a day of love, laughing and good times with your “sweeties.”
