New Year’s Resolutions…

December 31, 2007 | Filed Under | 2 Comments

I have to admit, I am not one for making resolutions. I have always thought that it was kinda silly…BUT, I am changing my mind this year. I am allowed to do that, right??

My personal resolutions for this year…

  1.      Keeping my house clean EVERYDAY! You laugh–but with 2 little boys, this is a HUGE feat :)

  2.      Reading a chapter in the BIBLE once a day

  3.      Running at least 3 times a week

Yeah, only 3, but I thought that I would start simple this year and hopefully make it easier to follow through!

Have a great NEW YEAR!!!

Here’s a random picture of my dad and me.

Our Christmas Holiday…

December 30, 2007 | Filed Under | 4 Comments

I can’t believe Christmas has already come and gone. This has to be one of the best Christmas’ EVER! On a whole, we really simplified: less presents, less shopping, and altogether, less STRESS! There was a more factor though; we had so much more fun. Because we were less focused on the gifting this time around and more on our family time, I was really reminded what this Holiday is SUPPOSED to be about. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good present, but love so much more making good memories with the people I care about.

Christmas Eve we spent in Running Springs at my In-laws house. Nana and Robbie made cookies, while Logan relaxed watching Charlie Brown :)

(Rob actually took all the pictures from Christmas Eve)

Of course giving gifts to the boys on Christmas morning was the highlight…I love it!

Later that day, we traveled around the OC visiting family…IT WAS A GREAT DAY!!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas too!

HUGS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

LUKE 2:4-11

4Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,

5in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.

6While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.

7And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

8In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.

10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;

11for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

I hope you all have a great Christmas!

Hugs!

Are you wasting it?

This is why I love Joe Photo. Not only is he an awesome photographer, but he drives me to think deeper.  This was posted on his blog a couple weeks ago.

The time bank…

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!!!!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds.

Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.

It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft.

Each day it opens a new account for you.

Each night it burns the remains of the day.

If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”.

You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!

The clock is running. Make the most of today.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who missed the train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.

Treasure every moment that you have! And reassure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time.

Remember that time waits for no one.
Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
That’s why it’s called the present!
